THE cabinet has decided to grant scholarships to 11 children of victims of the 2005 Helios airline accident.
According to an official announcement, nine underage children and two students, have been granted aid from the state scholarship foundation for humanitarian reasons.
The 11 are children of people killed in the Helios crash near Athens in August 2005 when all 121 passengers and crew were killed.
The decision was based on the recommendation of a newly created committee tasked with handling humanitarian issues relating to the Helios crash, the 2011 Mari naval base blast that killed 13 sailors and firemen, and others.
